Ultrasound Cell Handling

ULTRASOUND SYSTEMS

Ultrasound can be used to do more things than medical imaging and crushing kidney stones. For example, manipulating cells.

By attaching a transducer to our microchips and actuating with ultrasound of the right frequency, standing waves establish in the wells, effectively pushing cells into the center of the wells.

This can be used to induce cell-cell interaction. We use this to initiate the formation of immune synapses and to kick-start formation of tumor spheroids.
